Nippon

A media project about Japanese culture for people who are genuinely interested in the country — from news and lifestyle to travel guides and everyday vocabulary. One unified platform instead of scattered channels, with responsive layout and its own editorial identity.

Overview

Project context

Interest in Japan is growing in Russia, but content about it is scattered across dozens of disconnected channels — news, culture, lifestyle and travel each live separately, with no unified voice or publication.

The team's task was to build its own media outlet, combining serious news with lighter lifestyle content on one platform, adaptable across different distribution channels.

Problem & goal
Problem

Content about Japan exists, but it's one-sided

Channels about the culture are scattered across platforms and formats: some only cover news, others only entertainment. No single channel offered a full picture of the country — from politics to everyday life.

Task

Build media that unites the many sides of Japan

Design a publication with a flexible section structure — from news to lifestyle — that adapts equally well to a website, a Telegram channel and social media, while keeping a recognizable tone and visual style.
